After an intense workout or any kind of physical exertion that you may not be used to, you could end up with sore muscles and a lot of discomforts. When you push your muscles to the limit with strenuous exercise, they break down in tiny tears that need to heal. Thankfully, there are a few easy things you can do to help your muscles recover quickly. 

Hydrate Yourself

Depleted muscles hurt and the best way to help them heal fast is to drink a lot of water. You need to replenish all the hydration you lost during your workout. Drink water before your workout, during and after. Keep drinking fluids regularly to stay hydrated and accelerate the healing process. Not only does drinking a lot of water help you heal, but it also detoxifies your entire system as a bonus. 

Get Plenty of Rest

After use, muscles need time to repair themselves, and the best way is through rest. Sleep experts say you need at least 8 hours of good, uninterrupted sleep to repair damaged tissue. Even if you think you only need 5-6, do your body a favor and get that extra couple of hours of sleep. Your muscles will thank you for it. 

Ice for Quick Recovery of Inflammation

Apply an ice pack for 20 minutes directly after your workout or rigorous activity. The ice will help reduce inflammation and quicken the repair of broken-down muscles. If you find you are in pain for a few days, alternate ice and heating pads for 20 minutes each. The heat will help with the pain, and the ice will shrink any swelling. 

Try a CBD Cream or Ointment

Get a Massage

Massages are great for many things, but they are an excellent way to soothe and relax tired, overused muscles. Getting a massage soon after your workout can help eliminate soreness and speed up the recovery process.
